Warm up those vocal cords, it’s time to party! A karaoke
party can work for any occasion and can be hosted at a favorite local bar, at
home or wherever you please.
Send karaoke theme party invitations or create your own by
cutting black or gray stock paper into the shape of a microphone. Write
the party information on it using glitter pens or markers. American
Idol parties can also bring out the star in you.
Roll out the red carpet to make guests feel like VIPs as they walk in. Hang
posters of famous musicians on the walls to inspire guests to sing their best! You
can also feel like they are at the party with cardboard cutouts of famous
singers. Get the party started by asking everyone to join in on a song. This
will calm the nerves of shy partygoers.
Set up for the party by renting or purchasing a karaoke machines, microphones,
stages, lighting, and CDs. For a more affordable party, use karaoke games,
Rock Band or Guitar Hero games available on popular video game consoles. Create
your own glamorous stage areas with a sparkly curtain as a backdrop for the
singers. Also hang blinking lights around the stage and a bright lamp as a
spotlight for a Vegas show feel.
You don’t need to dress all dolled up for a karaoke party, but you can make
the party more interesting with costumes. Dress up as famous musicians, pop
divas, or rock stars.
Once you’ve finished belting your favorite tunes, chow down on party snacks.
Serve chips and vegetables with a variety of dips; humus; pitas; cheese and
crackers; pasta, chicken; or hamburgers. For adults, beer and cocktails may
calm the nerves and transform shy guests into singing sensations.
